The
game comes from Euro Games, and is known as Formula Dé.
It is the creation of French game designers Laurent Lavaur
and Eric Randall. The game comes in a box with 7 dice, 10
cars and two large tracks (Monaco and Zandvoort). There are
other tracks to be added, and they cost in the region of about 200
SEK per two-sided pair.
This
is how the game creators describe it: The principle of the
game: A die for each gear! The higher the gear, the more spaces
you travel. Simple? Yes, except that you can't just slow down. You
should save your engine and tires, conserve enough fuel for the
finish, and above all, use skillful braking to take the corners.
Corners? What corners? Coming into the chicane while still in sixth
gear
don't worry
at 200 m.p.h. no one will hear you scream.
We
think it's a strategic, fun and challenging game, while still being
based on fairly simple principles.
